There is a 90kg weight limit.

Be honest about your riding experience for safety reasons.

Helmets (ours or NZ-standard) must be worn.

Wear closed-toe shoes (no sandals or jandals).

Respect horses, their size, strength, and space.

Approach calmly from the side, never from behind.

Do not walk behind a horse without letting them know you are there.

Children must be supervised, no entry to yard areas without a guide.

Never wrap reins around your hands, hold properly between fingers and palm.

Stay calm and quiet, no yelling, running, or sudden movements.

Avoid grabbing branches when going under a tree, lean forward to go under.

Lean forward when going up a hill and lean back slightly when going down a hill.

Always follow your guide, they are there for your safety.

Inform guides if nervous, unwell, or have a disability so they can assist.

A reasonable level of fitness is required.

No babies or toddlers on horses, safety risk.

Riding requires active participation, use the given commands with your horse.

Pay attention to your horse’s behaviour and surroundings.

Keep space between horses on the trek to avoid biting/kicking. You do not know the status of your horse within the herd dynamics. Your guide will share with you about your horses personality.

Do not throw objects or remove clothing while riding without stopping, secure all flapping items.

Horses can scare with sudden movements and loud noises so refrain from throwing things or screaming please.
